RMA Soils was engaged to provide multiple geotechnical services for the planning and construction phases for the $2 billion, 42km bypass of Toowoomba, providing heavy vehicle access to the west and south west of the range.
Pre construction works included ground truthing of possible older landslide areas and assessment of the subsurface profile. The RMA Soils team provided detailed mapping and geotechnical advice regarding the slope instability to the various stakeholders.
During the construction phase the Soils team provided RPEQ certification for bridge piers, embankment foundations, batter protection, road cutting support, crane and piling pad assessment.
Post tender investigations was also provided.
